Pearson 26
Built by Pearson
A 26 ft 1 in masthead sloop designed by William Shaw, built from 1970 to 1983. She carries 8 ft 8 in beam, 4 ft draft and 5,400 lb displacement. Hull form is fin with a spade rudder.
A small cruiser built in large numbers through the 1970s, and one of the cheaper ways into a boat with a cabin. Pearson Yachts of Rhode Island were among the first to build sailboats in fiberglass, starting with the Triton in 1959. The company closed in 1991, so every Pearson is now a restoration candidate, and most are well worth restoring. The figures below come from owners who logged work on this boat here.
What building a Pearson 26 actually takes
Medians from the build logs kept on this site, not the designer’s estimate. Nobody has logged this boat here yet, so they are empty until the first builder does.
Those medians firm up as more people log this boat.
