Pearson 39
Built by Pearson
A 39 ft 3 in masthead sloop designed by William Shaw, built from 1970 to 1978. She carries 11 ft 8 in beam, 8 ft 11 in draft and 17,000 lb displacement. Hull form is keel and centerboard.
Pearson Yachts of Rhode Island were among the first to build sailboats in fiberglass, starting with the Triton in 1959. The company closed in 1991, so every Pearson is now a restoration candidate, and most are well worth restoring. The figures below come from owners who logged work on this boat here.
What building a Pearson 39 actually takes
Medians from the build logs kept on this site, not the designer’s estimate. Nobody has logged this boat here yet, so they are empty until the first builder does.
Those medians firm up as more people log this boat.
