Production model

Pearson 424

Built by Pearson

A 42 ft 4 in masthead ketch designed by William Shaw, built from 1981 to 1985. She carries 13 ft beam, 5 ft 3 in draft and 21,000 lb displacement. Hull form is fin with rudder on skeg. About 225 were built.

Pearson Yachts of Rhode Island were among the first to build sailboats in fiberglass, starting with the Triton in 1959. The company closed in 1991, so every Pearson is now a restoration candidate, and most are well worth restoring. The figures below come from owners who logged work on this boat here.
