Flying Saucer
Designed by Glen-L Marine
A 12 ft 3 in classic twin-cockpit runabout from Glen-L Marine, the smallest boat in the catalog with the two-cockpit look of a full-size antique, or built open as a car-top fishing boat. Vee-bottomed hard-chine sheet plywood, about 190 lb, outboards to 25 hp, with a wide beam for load. Glen-L publish a beam of 5 ft 9 in and a hull depth of 27 in.
They put the usual load at 2 to 4 people. The hull is a vee bottom hard chine developed for sheet plywood planking. Glen-L say the hull may be lengthened but not shortened, which is worth knowing before anybody starts redrawing frames. They draw a matching trailer for her. A compact conventional plywood build that rewards a bright mahogany deck. Budget 180 to 320 hours. The medians below are from builders who logged this boat here.
