Resorter
Built by Century
A mahogany runabout built by Century Boat Company of Manistee, Michigan, and one of the classic American inboard runabouts of the postwar years. Bright-finished hull, a V-drive or direct-drive inboard, and the kind of looks that are the entire reason anybody takes one on.
This is a serious restoration and should be approached as one. Bright finish hides nothing, so the planking, the bungs and the seams all have to be right before the varnish goes on, and a full refinish is dozens of coats. Bottom work on these is usually a complete job rather than a repair. The reward is a boat that is worth real money finished and that people will walk the length of a dock to look at.
What building a Resorter actually takes
Medians from the build logs kept on this site, not the designer’s estimate. Nobody has logged this boat here yet, so they are empty until the first builder does.
Those medians firm up as more people log this boat.
