Model boat kit
Ernest Hemingway's Pilar
Kit by Model Shipways
Pilar was a 1934 Wheeler motor yacht that Ernest Hemingway had fitted out for offshore sport fishing.
The 1:30 kit is plank on frame, with laser-cut frames, bulkheads and cabin parts, resin fittings and a decal sheet. It includes the flying bridge, fighting chair and fishing outriggers, and was designed by Marcelo Matrangolo of Nauticurso.
What building a Ernest Hemingway's Pilar actually takes
Medians from the build logs kept on this site, not the designer’s estimate. Nobody has logged this boat here yet, so they are empty until the first builder does.
Those medians firm up as more people log this boat.
