Precision 165

Built by Precision

A 16 ft 5 in fractional sloop designed by Jim Taylor, built from 1995 to 2019. She carries 7 ft 2 in beam, 1 ft 9 in draft and 750 lb displacement. Hull form is fin with a transom-hung rudder.

Narrow and short enough to trailer behind an ordinary vehicle without a permit, which is most of the appeal of a boat this size. Precision Boat Works build in Palmetto, Florida, making trailerable daysailers and small cruisers with a reputation for sailing better than their price suggests. The figures below come from owners who logged work on this boat here.
