This is my first boat build, I purchased plans and epoxy/fiberglass kit from boatbuildercentral.com. Okume marine plywood was bought locally. I used more than the 3 gallons of epoxy included in the kit, ended up closer to 5 gallons all together. I also used an extra 2 lbs of woodflour. This was definitely due to my lack of epoxy/fiberglass experience, but I also taped and epoxied both sides of the stringers and frames. When glassing the hull I overlapped the cloth on the whole bottom, not just 4" on the keel like the plans called for. The 2 gal of flotation foam only filled the middle sections under the sole so I had to buy another 2 gal to fill all 9 compartments. I used System Three Quickfair and EMC Quantum primer and paint (whisper grey). Jon at EMC is a ton of help as well as a great guy to visit with, I'm very impressed with the quality of the paint and the ease of application with a roller. As of today I am fairing the topside, hopefully will prime, paint and get it in the water in a few days
looking great. Yes the texas south and central temps in summer are rough for epoxy. My epoxy with a slow hardener is near solid after about 15minutes of mixing, in these 100 degree temps.
