Waterlodge

Designed by Glen-L Marine

Glen-L Marine's 20 and 24 ft plywood houseboats, drawn as an affordable waterfront cabin for anchoring in a backwater cove or moseying along protected water. There is not a curved line in them beyond the cabin-top crown, so no lofting and no patterns are needed; standard 4 by 8 exterior plywood and 2 in lumberyard stock throughout, with appliances and windows from the RV trade.

Glen-L says anyone who can drill, screw and saw can build one, and if you cannot build this boat you probably cannot build any boat. Budget 300 to 600 hours. Measured medians from logged builds appear below.

What building a Waterlodge actually takes

Medians from the build logs kept on this site, not the designer’s estimate. Nobody has logged this boat here yet, so they are empty until the first builder does.

If you are building one, yours becomes the reference: the page the next person building this boat finds when they search for it. One photo and one line is a valid first entry.
