USS Cairo
Kit by Bluejacket
USS Cairo was a Civil War ironclad river gunboat built by James Eads and Co. at Mound City, Illinois and commissioned in January 1862. She sank in the Yazoo River on 12 December 1862 after striking two torpedoes, was raised in the 1960s and is displayed at Vicksburg National Military Park.
The kit (K1111) is a 1/16 inch scale model with a solid basswood hull.
What building a USS Cairo actually takes
Medians from the build logs kept on this site, not the designer’s estimate. Nobody has logged this boat here yet, so they are empty until the first builder does.
Those medians firm up as more people log this boat.
