Model boat kit
Yacht America
Kit by Bluejacket
America was a racing schooner designed and built by George Steers in 1851, and her win around the Isle of Wight that year gave the America's Cup its name.
Bluejacket's 1/8 inch scale kit (KLW143) is an Admiralty style plank on frame model that leaves the mahogany ribs exposed. It includes planking wood, brass and Britannia fittings, rigging line and sailcloth.
What building a Yacht America actually takes
Medians from the build logs kept on this site, not the designer’s estimate. Nobody has logged this boat here yet, so they are empty until the first builder does.
Those medians firm up as more people log this boat.
