Muscongus Bay Lobster Smack
Kit by Model Shipways
Muscongus Bay lobster smacks were small sailing boats from the Maine coast, developed in the late 1800s for fishing and lobstering, with wet wells to keep the catch alive.
The 1:24 kit is plank on frame with laser-cut basswood parts, sail material and a wooden display base. It is Skill Level III of the Model Shipways Shipwright learning series.

Medians from the build logs kept on this site, not the designer’s estimate. Nobody has logged this boat here yet, so they are empty until the first builder does.
Those medians firm up as more people log this boat.
