Model boat kit
HMS Snake
Kit by Caldercraft
Snake was a flush decked, ship rigged sloop of the Napoleonic period armed with 32 pounder carronades. Sloops of her size did much of the Royal Navy's convoy escort, patrol and dispatch work while the ships of the line blockaded enemy ports.
The kit is 1:64 scale with a double plank on bulkhead hull, CNC cut walnut parts, about 900 copper plates and cast carronades. The model is 910 mm long, and Caldercraft says it is designed for the novice or intermediate builder.
What building a HMS Snake actually takes
Medians from the build logs kept on this site, not the designer’s estimate. Nobody has logged this boat here yet, so they are empty until the first builder does.
Those medians firm up as more people log this boat.
