Every boat here was built at home, in a garage, a basement or a back yard, and every log was written while it happened: the frames going up, the first sheet of plywood, the glassing, the long stretch of sanding, launch day. Each one records the hours and what the materials cost, so you can see what a homemade kayak, skiff, dory or runabout really takes before you pick a design of your own.
