Dauntless
Built by Boston Whaler
The middle of the range, offered as a center console and as a dual console, aimed at owners who want to fish on Saturday and take the family out on Sunday. More freeboard and more seating than a Montauk without going to a full offshore boat.
Every Whaler is built the same way, with foam injected between an inner and an outer fiberglass skin so the hull is structural and buoyant at once. That is why a swamped one floats, and it is also the thing to check on an older boat: foam that has taken on water adds hundreds of pounds and does not dry out, so weigh the hull rather than trusting the look of it.
What building a Dauntless actually takes
Medians from the build logs kept on this site, not the designer’s estimate. Nobody has logged this boat here yet, so they are empty until the first builder does.
Those medians firm up as more people log this boat.
