Catalina 34
Built by Catalina Yachts
A 34 ft 6 in masthead sloop designed by Frank Butler, built from 1985. She carries 11 ft 9 in beam, 5 ft 7 in draft and 11,950 lb displacement. Hull form is fin with a spade rudder. About 1,438 were built.
A roomy mid-size cruiser from Catalina's most successful period, with a large and active owner association that has documented most of what can go wrong. Catalina have built in California and Florida since 1969 and are the largest American sailboat builder. Their boats are made in big numbers to a sensible price, which means parts, sails and owner knowledge are all easy to find. The figures below come from owners who logged work on this boat here.
