J/105
Built by J/Boats
A 34 ft 6 in fractional sloop designed by Rodney S. Johnstone, built from 1995. She carries 11 ft beam, 6 ft 6 in draft and 7,750 lb displacement. Hull form is fin with bulb & a spade rudder.
The boat that put the retractable bowsprit and asymmetric spinnaker into mainstream one-design racing, and still one of the biggest fleets in the country. J/Boats were founded in Rhode Island in 1977 by Rod and Bob Johnstone, and their designs have defined one-design keelboat racing in America ever since. The figures below come from owners who logged work on this boat here.
