Vortex Jet
Built by Chaparral
The jet-drive line: no propeller and no outdrive, which means shallow draft and no exposed running gear, at the cost of low-speed handling.
Chaparral build in Nashville, Georgia and have a long reputation for finish quality at the upper end of the mainstream runabout market. They are built alongside the Robalo fishing boats in the same plant, and the hulls are hand laid over a bonded stringer grid, which is a large part of why used ones tend to be tighter than their rivals.
What building a Vortex Jet actually takes
Medians from the build logs kept on this site, not the designer’s estimate. Nobody has logged this boat here yet, so they are empty until the first builder does.
Those medians firm up as more people log this boat.
