Hunter 216
Built by Hunter
A 21 ft 6 in fractional sloop designed by Glenn Henderson, built from 2003. She carries 7 ft 11 in beam, 3 ft 6 in draft and 1,250 lb displacement. Hull form is lifting keel. About 250 were built.
Narrow and short enough to trailer behind an ordinary vehicle without a permit, which is most of the appeal of a boat this size. Hunter built in Alachua, Florida and aimed at volume production cruising boats with generous accommodation for the length. They are plentiful and affordable on the used market, and the brand continued as Marlow-Hunter after 2012. The figures below come from owners who logged work on this boat here.
