Venture 21
Built by MacGregor
A 21 ft cutter designed by Roger MacGregor, built from 1966 to 1979. She carries 6 ft 10 in beam, 5 ft 6 in draft and 1,500 lb displacement. Hull form is swing keel.
Narrow and short enough to trailer behind an ordinary vehicle without a permit, which is most of the appeal of a boat this size. MacGregor built light, cheap, trailerable sailboats in California for forty years, and sold more trailerable sailboats than anyone. Build quality is modest and the value for money was extraordinary. The figures below come from owners who logged work on this boat here.

Medians from the build logs kept on this site, not the designer’s estimate. Nobody has logged this boat here yet, so they are empty until the first builder does.
Those medians firm up as more people log this boat.
