J/29

Built by J/Boats

A 29 ft 6 in masthead sloop designed by Rodney S. Johnstone, built from 1982 to 1987. She carries 11 ft beam, 5 ft 7 in draft and 6,000 lb displacement. Hull form is fin with a transom-hung rudder. About 298 were built.

A light, fast IOR-era racer with a strong one-design following on the Great Lakes. J/Boats were founded in Rhode Island in 1977 by Rod and Bob Johnstone, and their designs have defined one-design keelboat racing in America ever since. The figures below come from owners who logged work on this boat here.
