Pearson 30

Built by Pearson

A 29 ft 9 in masthead sloop designed by William Shaw, built from 1971 to 1981. She carries 9 ft 6 in beam, 5 ft draft and 8,320 lb displacement. Hull form is fin with a spade rudder.

A popular Bill Shaw design and a common first cruiser-racer, built in large numbers through the 1970s. Pearson Yachts of Rhode Island were among the first to build sailboats in fiberglass, starting with the Triton in 1959. The company closed in 1991, so every Pearson is now a restoration candidate, and most are well worth restoring. The figures below come from owners who logged work on this boat here.
