Lightning
Built by Lightning Class
A nineteen-foot Sparkman and Stephens centreboarder from 1938, raced one-design ever since. The early hulls are wood, the class is still strong, and measurement is strict enough that a well-restored wooden boat races on equal terms.
What building a Lightning actually takes
Medians from the build logs kept on this site, not the designer’s estimate. Nobody has logged this boat here yet, so they are empty until the first builder does.
Those medians firm up as more people log this boat.
