Pearson Ariel
Built by Pearson
A 25 ft 7 in masthead sloop designed by Carl Alberg, built from 1962 to 1966. She carries 8 ft beam, 3 ft 8 in draft and 5,120 lb displacement. Hull form is long keel. About 440 were built.
A smaller Alberg design on the same thinking as the Triton: narrow, heavy for her length and seakindly, with a full keel and an attached rudder. Pearson Yachts of Rhode Island were among the first to build sailboats in fiberglass, starting with the Triton in 1959. The company closed in 1991, so every Pearson is now a restoration candidate, and most are well worth restoring. The figures below come from owners who logged work on this boat here.
What building a Pearson Ariel actually takes
Medians from the build logs kept on this site, not the designer’s estimate. Nobody has logged this boat here yet, so they are empty until the first builder does.
Those medians firm up as more people log this boat.
