Cedar Strip Canoe
Built by Peterborough
Ontario built all-wood canoes with no canvas at all: cedar strips fastened to ribs, varnished inside and out. Lovely, and a different repair problem from a canvas canoe, because the planking is the waterproofing.
What building a Cedar Strip Canoe actually takes
Medians from the build logs kept on this site, not the designer’s estimate. Nobody has logged this boat here yet, so they are empty until the first builder does.
Those medians firm up as more people log this boat.
