Precision 23
Built by Precision
A 23 ft 5 in fractional sloop designed by Jim Taylor, built from 1986 to 2019. She carries 8 ft 6 in beam, 5 ft 4 in draft and 2,450 lb displacement. Hull form is keel and centerboard. About 500 were built.
Narrow and short enough to trailer behind an ordinary vehicle without a permit, which is most of the appeal of a boat this size. Precision Boat Works build in Palmetto, Florida, making trailerable daysailers and small cruisers with a reputation for sailing better than their price suggests. The figures below come from owners who logged work on this boat here.
