Snipa no. 10
Designed by Bertil Andersson
Georg Svensson built this snipa at Mölle in the 1920s, a slim double-ender for oar and sail from the Kullaberg coast. She measures 5.475 m by 1.75 m.
Measured in October 1979, she is drawn on three sheets at 1:10, construction, frames and lines. The Mölle boats in the collection make a useful set to compare: this one, the snipa of unknown origin from the same harbour, and the 1971 motorsnipa built there by Gunnar Svensson, which shows how the shape filled out to carry an engine. For a builder, she represents the slim, pointed-stern Skåne type in its sailing form.
What building a Snipa no. 10 actually takes
Medians from the build logs kept on this site, not the designer’s estimate. Nobody has logged this boat here yet, so they are empty until the first builder does.
Those medians firm up as more people log this boat.
