A 7.0 m (23 ft) radius chine plywood trailer sailer by Dudley Dix, a shortened Didi 26 that keeps the same beam and cabin height. It is 12.5 percent shorter and lighter, displacing 1,300 kg with 380 kg of ballast and setting 263 sq ft, with a lifting or fixed keel drawing 1.7 m. There is sitting headroom, a small galley and enclosed heads, and a choice of short or long cockpit layouts.
The plywood backbone slots through the bulkheads as a self-jigging framework, and the cabintop is stitch and glue. Dix puts it within the abilities of amateur builders and points to the Didi 26 builders' notes for guidance. Budget 1,200 to 1,800 hours as a rule of thumb.
