Fast Eddy 35

Designed by Dudley Dix

A 35 ft 3 in (10.76 m) trailable gaff schooner by Dudley Dix, commissioned by Seaforth Expeditions in British Columbia for adventure cruises trips. It is a stretched Cape Henry 21 with a very slim 8 ft 3 in beam, eight rowing positions, a swing keel, an open camp-cruising cockpit and a small bow cabin. The hull keeps the lapstrake look but is built in aluminum to shrug off rocks and floating logs. Both masts fold in tabernacles. The first boat finished 14th of 46 in the 2019 Race to Alaska.

The designer calls it fairly complex and recommends it only to professionals or amateurs with aluminum welding experience. As a rough estimate, allow 3,000 to 5,000 hours. The medians below come from builders who logged this boat here.
