Steelaway
Designed by Glen-L Marine
A 35 ft steel coastal cruising sailboat from Glen-L Marine, multi-chine with a full-length keel, three cabins sleeping five, two staterooms each with access to the head, a raised dinette and an inside helm in the deckhouse. A 30 to 35 hp diesel and integral tanks.
For a welder, or someone who will contract the steelwork and do the rest. Budget 3,500 to 5,500 hours over five to ten years. Real hours from logged builds are below.
What building a Steelaway actually takes
Medians from the build logs kept on this site, not the designer’s estimate. Nobody has logged this boat here yet, so they are empty until the first builder does.
Those medians firm up as more people log this boat.
