A 26 ft 11 in gaff-rigged sharpie ketch from Glen-L Marine, double-ended with a pinkie stern, clipper bow and bowsprit, in three-eighths plywood. Camping accommodation for three or four, a well-mounted outboard to 5 hp, and a board-up draft of just over 12 in for gunkholing and beaching.

The flat-bottomed sharpie hull is easy and inexpensive for the amateur, but there is a lot of boat and rig here. Budget 1,000 to 1,800 hours over two to four years. Real hours from logged builds are below.
