Feather
Designed by Glen-L Marine
An 11 ft round-bilge sloop-rigged dinghy from Glen-L Marine built with C-Flex fiberglass planking over temporary forms, then laminated. Molded-in flotation chambers form the seats, the daggerboard trunk is formed in place, and the finished boat looks factory-molded. About 150 lb.
Glen-L suggests it as a first project for anyone planning a bigger one-off fiberglass boat, which is exactly what it is good for. Budget 120 to 220 hours including fairing and rig. Real hours from logged builds are below.
What building a Feather actually takes
Medians from the build logs kept on this site, not the designer’s estimate. Nobody has logged this boat here yet, so they are empty until the first builder does.
Those medians firm up as more people log this boat.
