Slot Machine

Designed by Glen-L Marine

A 45 ft 11 in high-speed tunnel-slot performance cruiser from Glen-L Marine, originally a custom design whose sea trials validated the concept, now sold as plans. Modern composite construction throughout: vinylester, unidirectional glass, vacuum-bagged PVC or balsa core and carbon at critical points over a simple male mold, with no wood anywhere. Twin stern-mounted engines on surface drives; sleeps four; about 14,200 lb.

Not beyond a qualified do-it-yourselfer, Glen-L says, but it is advanced composite work at yard scale. Expect 5,000 hours or more. Real hours from logged builds are below.
