A 4.75 m family daysailing trimaran from Richard Woods of Woods Designs that borrows its outriggers, rig and rudder from a 14 ft beach catamaran, new or derelict. Only the dory-shaped main hull is built, in hard-chine plywood with glass and epoxy joints and flat plywood decks. Beam 3.67 m, about 175 kg empty. It is the smaller sister of the Strike 18, a dry sit-in boat with space for weekend gear.
One owner quoted on the page calls himself an average woodworker, and another built his outdoors through an English winter. Woods took about 150 hours over the larger Strike 18 main hull, so as a rule of thumb budget 150 to 250 hours, more if building outriggers too. Measured medians from build logs appear below.
