Model boat kit
Lowell Grand Banks Dory
Kit by Model Shipways
Grand Banks dories were flat-bottomed fishing boats developed on the North American east coast in the 1800s, and their removable thwarts let schooners carry them nested in stacks on deck.
The 1:24 kit is a small wooden model of a Lowell-built dory. It is Skill Level I of the Model Shipways Shipwright learning series and is meant as a first build.
What building a Lowell Grand Banks Dory actually takes
Medians from the build logs kept on this site, not the designer’s estimate. Nobody has logged this boat here yet, so they are empty until the first builder does.
Those medians firm up as more people log this boat.
