Model boat kit
USS Constitution
Kit by Model Shipways
USS Constitution is a 44-gun frigate launched in Boston in 1797, best known for her War of 1812 victories, and she remains the oldest commissioned warship afloat.
The 1:76 kit is plank on bulkhead with laser-cut parts, basswood planking, copper tape for the hull plating and photo-etched brass sheets. Its plans follow the 1927 Navy drawings and the documentation used in the 1993 to 1997 restoration, with an instruction manual by Ben Lankford.
What building a USS Constitution actually takes
Medians from the build logs kept on this site, not the designer’s estimate. Nobody has logged this boat here yet, so they are empty until the first builder does.
Those medians firm up as more people log this boat.
