Model boat kit
Cutty Sark
Kit by Billing Boats
Cutty Sark is a tea clipper designed by Hercules Linton and launched at Dumbarton in 1869 to race cargoes home from China. When steamers took the tea trade she moved to carrying wool from Australia, where she made some of the fastest passages of her day. She has been preserved in dry dock at Greenwich since 1954.
The kit builds a 1:75 model with a wooden hull, 110 cm long and 67 cm high with full rig. Billing Boats rates it Expert, the top step of its four experience levels.
What building a Cutty Sark actually takes
Medians from the build logs kept on this site, not the designer’s estimate. Nobody has logged this boat here yet, so they are empty until the first builder does.
Those medians firm up as more people log this boat.
