Model boat kit
HMS Sphinx 1775
Kit by Vanguard Models
Sphinx was a Royal Navy sixth rate of 1775 that served in the American War of Independence.
The 1:64 kit is built on a laser-cut MDF skeleton with lime first planking and pear second planking, and nearly all parts above the deck are pre-cut. Pear wood is used for the visible parts and three ship's boats, with maple ply decks and walnut dowel spars.
What building a HMS Sphinx 1775 actually takes
Medians from the build logs kept on this site, not the designer’s estimate. Nobody has logged this boat here yet, so they are empty until the first builder does.
Those medians firm up as more people log this boat.
