Model boat kit
Bowdoin Arctic Exploring Ship
Kit by Bluejacket
Bowdoin is a schooner built at East Boothbay, Maine in 1921 for Donald MacMillan's Arctic expeditions, and she made nearly 30 voyages to the far north. She now sails with Maine Maritime Academy, is a National Historic Landmark, and is the official vessel of the State of Maine.
The 1:48 kit (KLW128) is plank on bulkhead and builds a model about 22 inches long. Bluejacket rates it at its Admiral level, for experienced builders.
What building a Bowdoin Arctic Exploring Ship actually takes
Medians from the build logs kept on this site, not the designer’s estimate. Nobody has logged this boat here yet, so they are empty until the first builder does.
Those medians firm up as more people log this boat.
