Model boat kit
Flying Fish
Kit by Corel
Flying Fish was an American market schooner designed by Jeremiah Burham and launched at Essex, Massachusetts in 1860; she worked with the Gloucester fishing fleet, carrying catches from the Banks to market. Market schooners were built for speed, since the first boat into port with fresh fish got the best price.
Corel's kit (SM19) models her at 1:50 with redrawn construction plans. The finished model is 745 mm long and 585 mm high.
What building a Flying Fish actually takes
Medians from the build logs kept on this site, not the designer’s estimate. Nobody has logged this boat here yet, so they are empty until the first builder does.
Those medians firm up as more people log this boat.
