Phantom New York Pilot Boat
Kit by Model Shipways
Phantom was a pilot schooner designed by Dennison J. Lawlor and built in East Boston in 1868 to 1869, later working for the Sandy Hook pilots out of New York. Her crew helped rescue passengers from the sinking liner Oregon in 1886, and she was lost in the blizzard of March 1888.
The kit was once a 1:96 solid hull model and was redesigned in 2024 by Jarod Matwiy as a 1:48 plank on bulkhead kit based on George F. Campbell's plans.
