Model boat kit
HMS Beagle
Kit by Occre
HMS Beagle was the Royal Navy survey ship that carried Charles Darwin on her second voyage from 1831 to 1836. She was a ten gun brig sloop launched at Woolwich in 1820, and was refitted for survey work with a raised deck and a third mast before her voyages to South America.
Occre's 1:60 kit (ref. 12005) has about 5,095 parts and includes a full set of sails, a wooden nameplate and a construction stand. The model is 720 mm long and 480 mm high, and Occre estimates about 480 hours to build it.
What building a HMS Beagle actually takes
Medians from the build logs kept on this site, not the designer’s estimate. Nobody has logged this boat here yet, so they are empty until the first builder does.
Those medians firm up as more people log this boat.
