Runabout
Built by Gar Wood
Gar Wood built the fastest and most expensive runabouts of the prewar years, in Marysville and Algonac, Michigan, for an owner who wanted to beat a Chris-Craft and did not mind paying for it. Deep varnished mahogany, enormous engines, and a standard of finish that is the reason a restored one is worth what it is. A serious project and never a cheap one.
What building a Runabout actually takes
Medians from the build logs kept on this site, not the designer’s estimate. Nobody has logged this boat here yet, so they are empty until the first builder does.
Those medians firm up as more people log this boat.
