Weekender 12

Designed by Jacques Mertens

A 12 ft 3 in light rowing skiff by Jacques Mertens for Bateau, also called the Week-end Skiff. The designer drew it for his daughter, who wanted a simple boat for a small lake: easy to build, easy to move, for one person with room for a second adult or two children. Beam is 54 in, designed weight 75 lb, and a 1.5 hp outboard is optional.

The plans cover stitch and glue, plus tack and tape and foam sandwich versions. The base boat has a single seat and is meant to be built in a weekend. The designer's figure is 48 man-hours shared by two people; with options and paint budget 40 to 80 hours. The medians below come from builders who logged this boat here.
