12ft Driftboat
Designed by Glen-L Marine
The 12 ft version of Glen-L Marine's McKenzie-type driftboats, a compact frame-free plywood river dory for one angler and light water, drawn with the same stress-skin construction as the larger sizes. Integral side trays and decked end compartments give the hull its strength without ribs, which keeps the interior clean and the weight down.
Intended for first-timers. Full-size patterns, no lofting, no frames to fit. Budget roughly 120 to 220 hours. Glen-L sells a matching fiberglass kit. Measured build times from logs kept here show below.
What building a 12ft Driftboat actually takes
Medians from the build logs kept on this site, not the designer’s estimate. Nobody has logged this boat here yet, so they are empty until the first builder does.
Those medians firm up as more people log this boat.
