Flateka pram no. 24
Designed by Bertil Andersson
The shortest boat in the whole collection, a spruce flat-bottomed pram built in 1978 by Malte Göransson at Öster Jär near Trelleborg, the same builder who produced the much larger Skånesnipa TG 24. She is 3.925 m long and a generous 1.58 m wide for that length.
Pram, prömm and pråm are the regional names for a flat-bottomed eka, and this one shows the type at its most compact and stable. The plans are two 1:10 sheets, a construction drawing and a frame drawing, from a September 1980 survey. A sensible choice for a builder after a beamy, simple rowing boat for a beach or a lake who would rather not loft a curved keel.
What building a Flateka pram no. 24 actually takes
Medians from the build logs kept on this site, not the designer’s estimate. Nobody has logged this boat here yet, so they are empty until the first builder does.
Those medians firm up as more people log this boat.
