MASH 24 Family Cruiser
Designed by Bedard Yacht Design
MASH began as a Sketchbook design for WoodenBoat magazine, issue 275: a 24 ft 4 in lobsterboat-style power cruiser with a cuddy cabin and an 8 ft 4 in beam. Bedard drew her so she can be built in stitch and glue plywood, cold molded, or a mix of the two.
She is a substantial project. Dry weight without engine is about 3,000 lb, she draws only a foot, the transom deadrise is 13 degrees, and the designer specifies 115 to 150 hp. The paper plan set runs to thirteen large drawing sheets plus full-size templates for the bulkheads, temporary stations and the long hull panels, and there is a builders' photo gallery to help along the way. A CNC-cut plywood kit is offered as well, which takes a lot of the layout work off the builder.
What building a MASH 24 Family Cruiser actually takes
Medians from the build logs kept on this site, not the designer’s estimate. Nobody has logged this boat here yet, so they are empty until the first builder does.
Those medians firm up as more people log this boat.
