Lingcod 24
Designed by Sam Devlin
A 24 ft 1 in (length on deck) garvey-type outboard skiff by Sam Devlin, built stitch and glue. Like the smaller Little Cod 21, it grew out of his Cackler line, with a bow transom and vee bottom. The volume forward lets it nose into a beach so the crew can step off the bow, and a centerline keel with bilge keels protects the bottom when grounded. Beam is 8 ft 9 in, draft 11 in and displacement 3,200 lb. It is drawn with a center console.
Study and construction plans are sold. A big open skiff is a simple shape but a lot of plywood and fairing. As a rule of thumb, budget 600 to 1,000 hours. Real hours from logged builds are below.
What building a Lingcod 24 actually takes
Medians from the build logs kept on this site, not the designer’s estimate. Nobody has logged this boat here yet, so they are empty until the first builder does.
Those medians firm up as more people log this boat.
