Bolero
Designed by Glen-L Marine
A 24 ft 5 in luxury deep-vee runabout from Glen-L Marine, 20 degrees of deadrise with lift strakes, a bulbous keel and reverse-curve chine, a sun deck for two, an L-shaped lounge cockpit and a two-berth cuddy. Double-diagonal plywood bottom and sheet plywood sides; stern-mounted inboard on a vee drive or outdrive. Glen-L publish a beam of 7 ft 11 in and a hull depth of 4 ft 2 in.
The bare hull comes out at about 1500 lb. They put the usual load at 4 people. Displacement is 3989 lb. The hull is a full length deep vee with lift strakes and 20 degree deadrise bottom. Developed for sheet plywood planking on the sides and double plywood planking on the bottom. For power they specify inboard, stern mounted engine driving through a vee drive or outdrive unit. They draw a matching trailer for her. Glen-L's answer to the rich man's boat-show toy, for the amateur builder. Budget 1,000 to 1,700 hours. Real hours from logged builds show below.
What building a Bolero actually takes
Medians from the build logs kept on this site, not the designer’s estimate. Nobody has logged this boat here yet, so they are empty until the first builder does.
Those medians firm up as more people log this boat.
