Pop 25

Designed by Roberto Barros

A 7.54 m cruising sailboat with a modern shape, vertical topsides and no backstay, drawn for amateur building in plywood and epoxy using little more than hand tools and easily found materials. B&G present it as a low emission cruiser: propulsion is electric, with the motor working as a generator under sail, topped up by solar panels and a wind generator.

She sits on twin keels with twin rudders, so she can take the ground, and the 2.80 m beam gives a good deal of room for the length. The designers intend her for offshore sailing and describe her as practically unsinkable, thanks to sealed foam filled compartments and double walled topsides. Light displacement is given as 2,800 kg, with 560 kg of ballast and a draft of 1.10 m.
